Human Service Agency Pass Program

Helping Those Who Help Others

At Pierce Transit, we believe that access to reliable transportation is a key element in building a stronger, more connected community. Our Human Service Agency Pass Program is designed to support the work of local organizations that provide essential services to individuals and families in need. Organizations can purchase these passes which enable people to access critical resources—whether it’s healthcare, education, employment, or social services—by removing transportation barriers. We sell these passes directly to agencies so they, in turn, can provide them at no cost to the people they support.

Here are a couple of these dedicated organizations that are utilizing Pierce Transit services to foster a more connected community.

multicultural child and family hope center

The Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center (MCFHC) stands as a beacon of support, empowerment, and advocacy for families throughout Pierce County. With a mission to provide culturally relevant support services to children and families, MCFHC offers early childhood education, family support programs, and community outreach initiatives. MCFHC also addresses basic needs through vital resources such as a diaper bank and grocery distribution. In partnership with Amazon Fresh, the center provides families with access to fresh food and household essentials, reducing food insecurity and promoting healthy living. These services are a lifeline for many families, especially those navigating economic hardship or transitional periods.

The Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center is our community and offers many ways for individuals and organizations to help in their mission through donations and volunteering.  You can learn more at www.mcfhc.org.

Human Service Agency Ticket & Pass Program

Human Services Agencies enhance the well-being of their clientele by providing benefits and services to those in need. Pierce Transit has created the Human Service Agency Ticket and Pass program in an effort to support agencies, their clients, and our community with essential transportation options. Certified Human Service Agencies (HSAs) can purchase One Ride Tickets and All Day Passes for those they serve. Some HSAs may qualify for a 50% discount.

Northwest Education Access

Northwest Education Access provides comprehensive and individualized support to help low-income young people, ages 16-29, build their own path to higher education and beyond.

Serving King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, they focus on “opportunity youth” – those disconnected from school and employment, many of whom have been affected by foster care, child welfare, or the justice system. Through one-on-one support, students receive help with navigating all their postsecondary options, completing financial aid and scholarship applications, tutoring, career exploration, and managing personal obstacles such as housing and childcare needs.

Each year, NWEdA serves around 1,000 young people, mostly first-generation and students of color–with outcomes showing participants are far more likely to enter and persist in college compared to peers without support. They also convene monthly the Sound Reengagement Collaborative, a network of providers helping more youth and adult learners reconnect with education and career opportunities.
