Parkland Transit Center Construction
July 19, 2013, Pardon our progress! Pierce Transit is making improvements to the Parkland Transit Center and Park and Ride to make it safer and more comfortable for you. Thanks to over 70% federal grant funding, we're able to make these improvements to Pierce Transit's oldest transit center. These special funds can be used only for facilities improvements and not for bus service. Pierce Transit is committed to providing safe and comfortable facilities for our customers.
You'll soon see more shelters, better and more efficient lighting, security cameras and improved accessibility.
Construction will begin July 29th and continue through September. We will use benches and trash cans relocated from elsewhere in our system.
The Park & Ride will be closed during construction.
RIDERS: During Construction
For Route 1, temporary bus stops will be located on Pacific Ave and 121st Street S., on the NE corner for travel toward TCC, and on the SW corner for travel toward SR-7 and 8th Ave. (Walmart).
For Routes 45, 55, 204, and 410, temporary boarding zones will be located on 121st Street S., across the street from the transit center. Buses will pull into the zone in the order they arrive, so watch for your bus!
For SHUTTLE, a temporary zone will be located near the bus boarding zone on 121st Street S. Look for signage in that area. The Park and Ride lot will be closed during construction.
