You may be curious about why five Pierce Transit routes have recently shifted from Commerce Street to Pacific Avenue. Although it might look like a sudden change, significant planning occurred around this decision and the public was highly engaged in the service design process over the past several years. Implementation of those plans was coordinated with the completion of the city of Tacoma’s Pacific Avenue Streetscapes project.
