The Transit Watch campaign is a nationwide safety and security awareness program designed to encourage the active participation of transit passengers and employees in working together to maintain a safe environment. The campaign provides information and instructions so you’ll know what to do and who to contact in the event of an emergency in a transit setting. Pierce Transit Transit Watch invites you to be the “eyes and ears” of our local transit system. Passengers are an important part of our security system. Make it hard on criminals by locking your car, leaving valuables at home or taking them with you and being aware of your surroundings. If you notice someone or something suspicious – such as someone looking into parked cars or an unattended package – please notify your coach operator or call 911 immediately. All buses have two-way radios and alarm systems to notify our dispatchers if there is a problem or need for assistance. We also have plain-clothes officers on board some buses and security cameras at some park & rides. Please report all crimes on Pierce Transit property to assist us in identifying and reducing problem activity. See all the applicable rules and regulations here.
