Special Event Service Eliminated
Due to the economic recession and failure of Proposition 1, the Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners directed staff to implement a 35% reduction in service to address the agency's budget shortfall. Part of the reductions includes no longer operating Special Event service, such as the Taste of Tacoma, July 4th Freedom Fair, and Puyallup Fair. However, many popular summer events are served by Pierce Transit's local routes. Check individual route maps and schedules, or try the online trip planner.

• 1 6th Ave-Pacific Ave
  Weekdays from 4:47am-6:45pm trips operate every 20 minutes and every 30 minutes at other times. Service is discontinued to Tacoma Dome Station. Weekend changes are made on some trips. Service ends at 11pm daily. Construction downtown requires a detour along "A" Street from S 24th to S 27th.
  
  
• 2 S 19th St-Bridgeport Way
  Weekday trips operate every 20 minutes between 6am-6:45pm and every 30 minutes all other times. Service ends at 11pm daily.
  
  
• 3 Lakewood-Tacoma
  Daily trips every 30 minutes until 10pm.
  
  
• 10 Pearl St
  Weekdays, trips operate every 30 minutes from 6:13am-8:40pm. Weekend trips are every 60 minutes 10am to 8:40pm.
  
  
• 11 Pt Defiance
  Most Weekday trips run every 30 minutes 5:30am to 6:30pm and 60 minutes 6:30pm to 8:40pm. Weekend trips operate hourly from 8am to 8pm.
  
  
• 13 N 30th St
  Weekday service operates from 6:30am to 7:30pm; Weekends are hourly from 9am to 7:30pm.
  
  
• 16 University of Puget Sound-Tacoma Community College
  Weekday service operates from 6:15am to 9:10pm; Weekends are hourly from 8:35am to 9:10pm.
  
  
• 26 M L King Jr Wy
  The 7:21am trip from 10th & Commerce is eliminated. Other trips have schedule changes.
  
  
• 28 S 12th St
  Weekday service operates every 30 minutes from 6:10am to 8:38pm, Saturday every 30 minutes from 7:20am to 5:20pm then hourly till 8:44pm, and Sunday hourly from 8:20am to 8:43pm
  
  
• 41 Portland Ave
  Weekday service operates from 5:12am to 9:11pm, Saturday 7:10am to 9:13pm and Sunday 8:10am to 9:13pm.
  
  
• 42 McKinley Ave
  Weekday service operates from 6:15am to 9:07pm with mid-day and evening service every 60 minutes. Saturday service operates from 7:15am to 9:05pm; Sundays from 8:45am to 9:05pm.
  
  
• 45 Yakima
  Weekday service operates every 60 minutes from 6:15am to 9:03pm; Saturdays and Sundays from 7:37am to 8:10pm.
  
  
• 48 Sheridan-M St
  Weekday service operates from 5am to 9:28pm with mid-day service every 60 minutes. Saturday service mostly operates every 30 minutes 6:45am to 9:20pm; Sundays from 7:45am to 7:55pm.
  
  
• 51 Union Ave
  Weekdays, the 5:45am and 8:45pm trips from Tacoma Mall and the 8:03pm trip from 45th & Huson are deleted. On Weekends the 7:50pm and 8:50pm trips from Tacoma Mall and the 8:03am and 8:03pm trips from 45th & Huson are deleted.
  
  
• 52 Tacoma Community College-Tacoma Mall
  Weekdays, the 9:15pm trip from the Tacoma Mall and 9:50pm trip from TCC no longer operate. Service hours are reduced on Weekends.
  
  
• 53 University Place
  Weekdays, the 8:50pm and 9:50pm trips from 10th & Commerce, the 5:18am trip from Tacoma Mall and the 8:31pm and 9:31pm trips from TCC are deleted. Weekend service is reduced. Downtown construction requires a detour along "A" St. from S 24th to S 27th.
  
  
• 54 38th St
  The Weekday 6:45am, 7:45am and 9:15pm trips from Tacoma Mall and the 8:43pm and 9:43pm trips from 56th & Portland are deleted. Saturdays the 8:15am, 5:45pm and 9:15pm trips from Tacoma Mall and the 7:43am, 9:43am, 8:43pm and 9:43pm trips from 56th & Portland Ave no longer operate. Sundays: all trips have schedule changes.
  
  
• 55 Tacoma Mall-Parkland
  Weekdays, the 9:45pm trip from Tacoma Mall and the 9:15pm trip from TCC no longer operate. The Weekend schedule has many trips eliminated and other schedule adjustments.
  
  
• 56 56th St
  
• Weekday service operates every 60 minutes from 6:15am to 9:08pm; Weekends from 8:45am to 8:10pm.
  
  
• 57 Tacoma Mall
  Weekday service operates every 30-60 minutes from 5:45am to 9:21pm. Saturday service operates from 7:36am to 9:16pm; Sundays 9:03am to 9:08pm.
  
  In the June edition of The Bus Stops Here, Route 57 buses that continue as Route 300 were mismarked on the Saturday and Sunday schedules.

• 60 Port of Tacoma
  Due to low ridership this route no longer operates.
  
  
• 61 NE Tacoma-Brown's Point
  Many trips no longer operate, including mid-day service.
  
  
• 100 Gig Harbor
  The Weekday 5:35am and 7:45pm trips from TCC and the 8:36pm from Purdy no longer operate. On Weekends the hours of service are reduced.
  

• 102 Gig Harbor-Tacoma Express
  Only four morning and four afternoon trips operate. A construction project downtown requires afternoon Route 102 trips to detour along "A" Street between 26th and 27th Streets.
  
  
• 113 Key Peninsula BusPLUS
  
  
• 202 72nd St
  Weekday schedule changes are made. Weekends the 7:45am and 9:50pm trips from Lakewood and the 8:15am and 9:15pm trips from 72nd St TC are deleted.
  
  
• 204 Lakewood-Parkland
  Weekday trips operate every 30 minutes 6:15am to 9:08pm. Saturday service operates every 30-60 minutes from 8:45am to 9:10pm. Sundays the route operates every 30-60 minutes from 9:45am to 9:08pm.
  
  
• 206 Pacific Hwy-Tillicum
  Weekday schedule changes are made. On all days, some trips no longer operate.
  
  
• 207 Ft Lewis
  Due to low ridership this route no longer operates.
  
  
• 212 Steilacoom
  Weekday service operates 5:41am to 8:46pm with added schedule changes. Saturday service operates 8:18am to 8:40pm. Sunday service operates 8:45am to 8:40pm.
  
  In the June edition of The Bus Stops Here, the map and timetable describe the route variations as 212 and 212A. All buses will operate as Route 212 with some trips serving Pierce College. Please rely on the timetable for accurate information.
  
  On Weekends, connections to Route 214 are marked with this symbol: <. Those buses no longer continue as Route 214.
  
  
• 214 Washington
  Weekday service operates 6:15am to 8:40pm with additional schedule changes. Weekend service operates from 8:20am to 8:40pm.
  
  
• 220 Orchard St
  The Weekday 9:26pm trip from North 45th & Huson no longer operates. Weekend hours of service are reduced.
  
  
• 300 S Tacoma Wy
  Reduced hours of service.
  
  
• 402 Meridian
  Route 402A no longer operates. Passengers in Gem Heights should take Route 490. Route 402 operates daily with reduced hours of service.
  
  
• 406 Buckley
  No mid-day service.
  
  
• 407 Prairie Ridge
  No mid-day service.
  
  
• 408 Sumner-Bonney Lake
  Hours of service are reduced on all days.

  To ensure connections with Sounder, morning trips leave 5 minutes earlier.

  Weekday hours of service and frequency are reduced. Weekend hours of service are reduced.

• Olympia/Lacey Express
  To reduce passenger confusion with IT's Route 603, PT's Route 603A is renamed Route 602. Two morning and two afternoon trips operate. A construction project in Downtown Tacoma requires Route 602 to detour on "A" Street between S 24th and S27th Streets. (Also, Intercity Transit has renamed some Route 603 trips as Route 605.)
