INTRODUCTION
Pierce Transit requires towing and recovery services on an "as needed" basis for vehicles owned and/or operated by Pierce Transit.

Pierce Transit operates fixed route, shuttle (paratransit), and Vanpool services in Pierce County, King County and Thurston County. Although Pierce Transit has a high standard of maintenance, vehicles will occasionally breakdown or be involved in an accident and require towing or recovery services. It is important to Pierce Transit that these vehicles be recovered quickly and efficiently to reduce the impact to Pierce Transit customers, transit services and the public.

General Requirements
The Contractor shall be responsible for all services provided under this Contract. The designated services may be provided by the Contractor or a subcontractor of his selection. A list of potential subcontractors to be used by the Contractor shall be submitted to Pierce Transit with the bid package. All subcontractors used by the Contractor shall meet the same requirements of the Contract. The use of a subcontractor shall be at no additional cost to Pierce Transit. Towing and recovery services shall be on an "as needed" basis. All services shall be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Contractor shall have the exclusive right to first call, with the exception that Local Law Enforcement or Emergency Responders may determine that there is an immediate need for towing or recovery.

Term of Contract
This will be a three year contract with two optional one-year extensions.
