GENERAL
Pierce Transit intends to award a contract for the lease of tires and tire services for its fleet of transit buses. The contract shall be for a period of four years beginning April 1, 2007 with an option for a one-year extension at Pierce Transit’s discretion.

The minimum technical and service requirements of the contract are described below. Services and materials necessary to meet the regulatory requirements, as well as industry standards, but not specifically outlined herein shall be considered a requirement of the contract. Proposers are encouraged to include in their proposal any additional services they offer and the associated costs.

Proposers should be qualified and experienced in the Tire Leasing and Fleet Tire Maintenance Services.

PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE
A pre-proposal conference will be conducted at Pierce Transit Headquarters, 3701 96th Street SW, Lakewood, WA 98496 on January 23, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Prospective proposers are encouraged to attend.

FLEET INFORMATION
Pierce Transit’s current fleet consists of thirty 30 foot transit buses, two-hundred-thirty-five 40 foot transit buses, and thirteen 45 foot buses. The projected fleet expansion over the term of the contract is an addition of twenty-five forty foot transit buses.

MILEAGE
The projected 2007 annual mileage for the Bus Fleet is 12.8 million miles. Each bus averages approximately 50,000 miles per year.
