Pierce Transit prints its all-schedule booklet “The Bus Stops Here” three (3) times per year with editions in February, May/June and September.

QUANTITY
Quantity shall vary for each edition. For bid evaluation purposes, orders range from 135,000 to 200,000. Pierce Transit will pay for up to three percent (3%) overages, based on finished books. Pierce Transit shall not accept less than the quantities ordered.

ART
Each booklet will consist of three (3) elements referred to as the "Cover," "Resource Pages," and "Schedule Pages." Resource Pages contain general information about our system, i.e. "how to ride" tips, fare pricing, customer service resources, transit center maps, etc. Schedule Pages contain route schedules and maps.

Cover:
The Cover prints four-color process, two sides, full bleed. The artwork shall be produced and furnished to the printer as a Mac Freehand MX file (or most current software upgrade). The file will be compressed using Stuffit software and will be placed on the printer’s ftp site.

Resource Pages:
Resource Pages print four-color process, two sides, no bleeds. The artwork shall be produced using Mac InDesign 3.0 (or most current software upgrade). The files will be provided to the printer as pdf files. The printer will provide Adobe Distiller (6.0 or later) settings needed to convert postscript files into the pdf with their required job settings. The pdfs will be placed on the printer’s ftp site. Generally, there are sixteen (16) Resource Pages per each edition of TBSH, although that quantity may be increased or decreased in increments of eight (8) pages.

Schedule Pages:
Schedule Pages print two-color, two sides, no bleeds. The two inks are PMS 279 Blue and black. Different screen values of both colors will be used in addition to 100% full value. Current printer requires art files to be built using black and cyan. Printer uses cyan plate to print PMS 279.

TERM OF CONTRACT
The contract term shall be for one (1) year with four one-year optional extensions. TBSH is printed in conjunction with service changes for issue in February, May/June and September. Additional editions and/or re-prints may be required throughout the term of the contract and shall be billed at the bid pricing.
