PIERCE TRANSIT
CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR ARCHITECT/ENGINEERING AND RELATED SERVICES

PROJECT OVERVIEW AND SCOPE OF WORK
Pierce Transit is interested in obtaining the services of two (2) or three (3) firms for general consultant services for a three (3) year period with an additional option to extend that agreement. Services would be for small public works projects throughout Pierce County. Pierce Transit will call upon the successful team(s) as professional support services are required in order to complete the variety of projects we are undertaking. The support services to achieve these various projects will include, but are not limited to, the following disciplines:

  1. Survey including field work, mapping including topography, legal descriptions and boundary line adjustments.
  2. Electrical engineering including electrical control panels
  3. Mechanical engineering including HVAC
  4. Civil engineering
  5. Structural engineering
  6. Environmental including document preparation and engineering
  7. Landscape architecture including the support of a certified arborist
  8. Traffic engineering
  9. GIS and mapping
  10. Architectural design
  11. Space planning including interior design
  12. Facilitating design charrettes
  13. Permit Facilitation

The selected consultant(s) will be expected to obtain such services through subcontracting if not available within the successful contractor’s firm.

The selected consultant(s) will work with a variety of Pierce Transit staff on a variety of projects. Plan to participate in project team meetings. The Pierce Transit team is a very hands-on group that will be highly interested in all aspects of each project. Examples of project scopes could include the following:

  1. Updating park and ride lot data including survey, field verification and drafting of changes.
  2. Water quality and soil testing.
  3. Work on electrical control panels.
  4. CADD design and/or drafting on work related to bus stops – new and existing.
  5. Environmental support services for National Environmental Policy Act and State Environmental Policy Act documents.
  6. Jurisdictional permitting support.
  7. Space planning and interior design of existing and new facilities.
  8. Developing construction plans and specifications for minor remodeling of Pierce Transit capital facilities and subsequent construction support.
  9. Preparing legal descriptions and/or easements.
  10. Engineering and structural review of capital projects.
  11. Traffic studies and reports in support of bus stops along WSDOT corridors or other public roadways.
  12. Facilitating design charrettes.

Note that all deliverables for future projects will be submitted in both draft and final format. Pierce Transit will review and provide comments on all draft material. For all final deliverables, the consultant shall provide a final deliverable that incorporates Pierce Transit and potentially the Project Team’s comments and corrections. All submittals shall be provided in both electronic AutoCAD, PDF and paper format for Pierce Transit’s future use.
