Transit express buses transport you non-stop to Freedom Fair, starting at 10:00 am.
Buses leave Park & Ride lots at the Tacoma Dome Station (East E & 25th) and Tacoma Community
College (S. 19th & Mildred). Service runs every fifteen minutes until 8:00
p.m. and resumes after the fireworks.
THE 4th OF JULY ALL-DAY TICKET
Express bus fare is $1.50 one way, $3.00 roundtrip, or you can buy a 4th of July ticket for $3 and travel all day on the 4th of July Express
and any local route (not valid on Sound Transit). Tickets can be purchased
the day of the event at TCC and the Tacoma Dome Station.
July 2008 PugetPasses and 2008 Summer Youth Passes are good for full fare on the 4th of July Express (seniors and persons with disabilities must show an RRFP with a 75¢ PugetPass). If you take a local bus and pay cash, ask the driver for a transfer. Your valid transfer is good for $1.50 off the purchase of an All-Day Ticket.

LOCAL ROUTES
Route 13 N. 30th St operates on a special half-hourly schedule beginning at
8:18 a.m., picking up patrons between Tacoma Dome Station, 10th and Commerce,
and North Tacoma. Service will run until 8:00 p.m. and resumes after the fireworks. All other local routes operate on a Sunday schedule.
REGISTERED SHUTTLE CUSTOMERS
Registered SHUTTLE customers can schedule
trips to McCarver & Ruston Way or McCarver & N. 30th. Service begins
at 10:00 am and runs to Old Town until 8:00 pm. Pick-ups at both locations will
begin at 11:00 pm or immediately after the fireworks are over. Registered SHUTTLE
riders may call 581.8100 one to five days in advance to reserve rides.

FIREWORKS
Express Service back to Tacoma Dome Station, TCC and Downtown Tacoma begins
immediately after the fireworks. The map below shows where to catch buses and SHUTTLE.
All passengers who arrived on a bus and require the use of a lift-equipped vehicle
on the return trip should note those buses will leave from N. 30th Street,
just west of McCarver.

For the 29th year, Tacoma's Freedom Fair will give thousands lasting memories of our country's independence. Tacoma's Freedom Fair is the largest 4th of July festival in the Northwest, and was named

A FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR!
The spectacular grand finalé will begin after 10pm when a symphony of light and sound explodes over Commencement Bay. Thousands of pyrotechnic effects will be fired from a barge offshore from Ruston Way’s waterfront parks. The show is synchronized to music on Warm 106.9 FM, KLAY 1180 AM and waterfront stages. The best place for viewing the show is on the Ruston Way waterfront between Jack Hyde Park and Marine Park, where you can hear the music. (Map of activities)
OUTDOOR MARKET
About 150 artists, craft vendors and commercial exhibitors will transform the Ruston Way waterfront into a colorful and bustling public market. Merchants will offer a wide assortment of toys, clothing, jewelry, art works, home decorations, personal services and much more. Wear comfortable shoes and plan to shop till you drop!
THE TACOMA AIR SHOW
performances by civilian and military aviators— always the highlight of Freedom Fair. Skilled pilots in powerful flying machines such as the Air Force F-16 and C-17, USCG H-60 rescue helicopter, Navy F/A-18 Hornet, vintage war birds, and modern aircraft will roar, spin, loop and dive through the skies between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
SHOW & SHINE CAR SHOW
Pick your favorite at the Show & Shine Car Show on display at the Lobster Shop and Duke's Chowder House.
INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR
Sample great food and beverages. You'll find fifty places to eat. American Family Insurance hosts a comfortable food court to sit and eat your meal. It's located between Old Town Northern Fish and the Silver Cloud Inn, behind the food booths.
CONTINUOUS LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
Numerous locations will showcase a variety of local talent, such as the Smooth Jazz Stage in Jack Hyde Park, the MOViN 92.5/Car Toys Blues Stage at Duke's, The WARM 106.9 Family Fun Stage, and the Tacoma Power Stage near the Lobster Shop. Play an authentic African drum at the Congo Productions Drum Circle in Marine Park
FUN FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES!
The waterfront is packed with great family activities. Starting at 10am the world's longest running Beach Pole Vault Championship is near the Les Davis Pier, and Remote Control Cars will race near Marine Park. Clowns Unlimited will host the festivities at the Metro Parks Fun Zone at Dickman Mill Park. Enjoy a look-a-like contest and Gospollo entertainment at Dickman Mill Park. New this year: the Lost Boys Pirates Cove in Marine Park. Kids of all ages will enjoy the "Son of the Morning Star" pirate ship, belly dancers, fire jugglers, medieval jousting, and cut-throat dinghy races. Also new this year: donations of non-perishable food items for the Emergency Food Network will be accepted at Camp Patriot and the Lost Boys Pirates Cove. Donors will be entered into a drawing for fantastic prizes to be held at 9pm at the Les Davis Pier.
CAMP PATRIOT
Camp Patriot at Marine Park will host community heroes including representatives of the American military, first responders, and non-profits that serve the community. Bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the Emergency Food Network and be entered into a fantastic prize drawing.
