Transfers

Pierce Transit transfers are good for one hour past the time your bus reaches the end of its route. For example, if you took the Route 1 bus leaving Tacoma Community College at 6:05 am and got off in Downtown Tacoma at 6:27 am, your transfer would be good until 8:22 am — an hour after the bus reaches the end of the line at the Wal-Mart on Mountain Highway at 7:22 am.

If using ORCA e-purse* to purchase your fare, your transfer is good for two hours.

Pierce Transit transfers have a value of $1.75 toward local Pierce Transit fares (75¢ for Discounted‡ or Youth).

As of January 1, 2010, paper transfers from Pierce Transit are no longer accepted aboard Sound Transit buses or trains, and Sound Transit train tickets are not accepted by  Pierce Transit.

Sound Transit Express, Link Light Rail and Sounder Train information.

*Short for electronic purse, E-purse is stored transportation value used like cash to pay your fare. You can store value from $5 to $300 on your ORCA card.
