PRE-BID CONFERENCE
Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a pre-bid conference to be held at Pierce Transit, 3701 96th Street SW, at 10:00 a.m. on December 2, 2004. Following the pre-bid conference, a walk through of the headquarters facilities and the North-end Bus Turnaround will provide an opportunity to have specific questions answered. Tours of the facilities WILL NOT be provided before or after the pre-bid conference. Tacoma Dome Station is open to the public at all hours and may be toured at anytime.

DESCRIPTION
Pierce Transit is requesting proposals to furnish all necessary labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and supplies to maintain fire protection systems at various Pierce Transit facilities located throughout Pierce County. Fire protection systems to be considered in this bid are:

• Fire extinguishers
• Fire alarm systems
• Fire sprinkler systems
• Dry standpipe systems
• Halon 1301 fire suppression systems

Although Pierce Transit prefers to make a single contract award for all listed systems, bidders may submit a bid for individual systems or for all systems. However, bids must be submitted by system and not as a lump sum price for all systems (see bid form).

TERM OF CONTRACT
The contract shall be for a period of two (2) years beginning February 1, 2005 through January 31, 2007, with three optional one-year contract extensions.

PAYMENT
Each order shall be placed by use of a Purchase Order. Pierce Transit will remit payment within 30 days of receipt of a correct invoice. Incorrect invoices shall be subject to correction and/or rejection by Pierce Transit.
