DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS PIERCE TRANSIT OIL, FUEL, AND AIR FILTERS

PIERCE TRANSIT has a need for filters for various types of equipment, including buses, vans and cars. Filters are identified by brand name. If brand names other than specified are bid, they must be indicated on the bid page. Bidder shall furnish any necessary technical information requested by Pierce Transit to assist in product evaluation. Bids for filters not meeting minimum specifications will be rejected. PIERCE TRANSIT's determination of an "or equal" product shall be final. The quantities shown represent approximate annual usage to be used only for bid evaluation and shall not be considered a guaranteed quantity. Orders will be placed in quantities as needed throughout the term of the contract.
*OIL FILTERS FOR BUSES
Fleetguard LF9009 or better: 10 micron efficiency @ 59%, 30 micron efficiency @ 99%, with glass media.
Fleetguard LF3380 or better: 10 micron efficiency @ 73%, 30 micron efficiency @ 99%, with glass media.
Fleetguard LF9001 or better: 10 micron efficiency @ 60%, 30 micron efficiency @ 99%
* No Substitutions accepted on the oil filters. Bid product as listed.
TRANSMISSION FILTERS FOR BUSES
Transmission filters shall meet the following minimum specifications:
= 2 @ 5 micron or B5 = 2
TWA Micron @ Beta = 2 @ 12 Micron or B12 = 100
Pressure Ratings: Working pressure - 600 psig
Rated static pressure - 2,400 psig (typical)
Temperature Range: -45° to 300° F Continuous; up to 330° F intermittent
Compatibility: Dexron III type C-3, and 30W oils used as transmission fluids, also fluids compatible with Viton (fluorocarbon) seals.
GASKETS
If gaskets are included with the brand listed, gaskets shall be included with any "or equals" bid.
PRICING
Prices shall be firm for the first year of the contract. For the option year, prices may be increased or decreased in accordance with the Seattle/Tacoma/Bremerton Consumer Price Index (CPI), but shall not exceed three percent (3%) of the prior annual rate. PIERCE TRANSIT shall determine at that time if the optional period is in the best interest of the Agency.
PIERCE TRANSIT may have a need to purchase filters not included in the bid during the term of the contract. It is expected that these items will be priced by the same method as the bid.
DELIVERY
PIERCE TRANSIT requires delivery of filters within ten (10) working days of individual orders. If this requirement is not consistently met, the contractor will be put on written notice to correct the problem. After two (2) such notices, PIERCE TRANSIT reserves the right to cancel the contract with a written thirty (30) day notice of cancellation.
TERM OF CONTRACT
The contract shall be for a period of one (1) year with an optional one-year extension.
